NORTH KOHALA HAWAII

North Kohala Hawaii
The North Kohala coast is home to the most sacred site, the birthplace of King Kamehameha. It is very Hawaiian, whose last economic heyday was during the sugar boom. Hawi today is the central city, with rows of quint twenties-era buildings with small botique shops. The north coast of this penninsula, as with all other parts of Hawaii, tends to be wetter than its southern counterpart. The rains, however, are not long in duration.
