PUNA HAWAII

Puna Hawaii
Half of Puna is residential, but the rest of it is park and attactions. The west of Puna has the end of the chain of craters, and Hawaii Volcanos National Park. Here is the border where man and lava flows meet, developments have encroached on the old flows, the youngest of which ended in 1993. If you are driving the coast, you should note that route 137 (Chain of Craters Road) has been shut for some time along the shoreline. It has been buried for miles by lava!
